This refreshing turmeric, ginger, and lemon wellness drink combines hot water, fresh ginger, turmeric, lemon, and black pepper to create a soothing morning drink. While   it’s not a cure for diabetes, high blood pressure, poor circulation, or bloating  , it can be a nutritious addition to a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

The combination of turmeric and ginger provides natural anti-inflammatory compounds, while lemon adds a fresh citrus flavor and vitamin C.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder (or 1 teaspoon grated fresh turmeric)
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional, omit for a low-sugar version)

    Instructions

    Step 1

    Heat the water until it is hot, but not boiling.

    Step 2

    Add grated ginger and turmeric to a cup.

    Step 3

    Pour the warm water over the ingredients and mix well.

    Step 4

    Add the lemon juice and a pinch of black pepper.

    Step 5

    Leave the mixture to infuse for 3-5 minutes.

    Step 6

    If desired, drain and serve warm.

    Notes

    • Fresh turmeric adds a more vibrant flavor and color.
    • Black pepper helps improve the absorption of curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric.
    • Honey is optional and should be used in moderation by those monitoring their blood sugar.
